"whatever you do unto the least of these, you do unto me."

ALEJANDRO LOPEZ GOMEZ
GENDER: Male
BIRTHDAY: June 15, 2002
COUNTRY: Mexico
ARRIVED AT CASA HOGAR CANAAN: January 2007
FOR FUN: loves to play with toy trucks and cars

Alejandros father was placed in prison in the fall of 2005, leaving his mother to care for him by herself. Alejandro has a younger brother named Ricardo who lives at Casa Hogar Canaan as well. Their mother cared for them for the first year but finally decided that she did not desire to do so any longer and abandoned them to their uncle. This was not the best situation for these two boys as their uncle was, and still is, an alcoholic. Their uncle contacted Casa Hogar Canaan sometime after their arrival, and it was decided that they would be handed over to the orphanage. When they arrived at Casa Hogar Canaan, these two brothers were malnourished, had no shoes and owned only the clothes that they were wearing. As a matter of fact, Alejandro is small for his age because of the lack of proper nutrition throughout the first years of his life.

With your monthly tax-deductible contribution, Alejandro will receive the proper nutrition that he needs to grow strong and healthy. He will also be able to receive adequate health care, much-needed medical check-ups, as well as the proper education to ensure that he is progressing as he should. This sponsorship will also provide Alejandro the opportunities for safe recreation and the chance to learn important life skills.

As a Sponsor of Alejandro, you will receive photo updates and letters from him on a quarterly or semi-annual basis so that you can be encouraged by the progress of this young child.
